Darcygom is a Korean fashion brand founded by Beth S.J. (Seung-ju) Lee in 2017, where her brand's motto is Korean Traditions Meets Sustainable Fashion. The brand's name, Darcygom is from an old Korean word meaning "yet again", so the designer thought the name made sense since she loves to upcycle materials and Korean traditions.
When the brand started in 2017, the designer used a traditional Korean fabric called saekdong meaning "colorful stripes". It was during this time, she discovered there was only one fabric maker still making this fabric using the traditional technique. She thought if this business closed, then this part of Korean culture would be lost. Upon this discovery, she decided to sustain this part of Korean fashion culture by producing a collection of apparel and accessories.
